Tales from the Tour (TFTT) is an Arizona Non-Profit Corporation. We are a Christian Men’s Outreach Ministry dedicated to helping men come to know the powerful message of Jesus Christ. And to understand how our faith in Him, can have profound impact on our everyday lives as husbands, fathers, workers and friends. We sponsor large Christian Outreach events, men’s study groups, and golf outings. In addition, this past year we also sponsored two free showings of the Christian golf movie, “Seven Days in Utopia”.
Your Dollars at Work
TFTT started in 2006, and as the name implies, the Ministry uses the game of golf as its focus. Each year at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the Ministry sponsors, free of charge, an Outreach event with PGA TOUR professionals sharing their stories of life on tour, and how their faith impacts every aspect of their lives. This is the largest Christian Outreach event on the PGA Tour. Over the years, these free events have attracted more than 4,000 people. Highlights and player interviews from this year’s event are on our website at www.talesfromthetour.org. Considering the size and set-up of our venues, the professional staging, website videos, and marketing expenses, we need your support to fund this free event. Our costs typically average $30 – $35,000.
Because God has blessed us with the success of the golf event, in 2013, we hosted our first baseball event – Tales From the Dugout — during the 2013 Spring Training Baseball season in Arizona. Hosted by MLB stars, Tim Salmon and Aaron Boone, this first event featured inspirational stories from superstars of Major League Baseball, Albert Pujols, Josh Hamilton and Barry Zito. Almost 4,000 people attended the inaugural Tales From the Dugout at Grand Canyon University Arena.
TFTT believes in providing practical, Christian-based studies to help men with day to day issues familiar to all of us. To this end, we offer men’s study groups where our approach is to provide a safe, no-pressure environment, usually on a weekly basis, where guys can meet and “live life together” for about an hour. We discuss pertinent topics from a Biblical perspective. No pressure and no expectations. Say a lot, say a little, or say nothing at all. Numerous men are involved in these studies, and already this year we have doubled participation. This growth requires funding for additional resources, books and materials, and logistical support.
Thank you and God bless you.
