It’s All About the Stories
We love to hear stories and we love to tell them. Tales From the Tour is built on hearing stories from the PGA Tour and Major League Baseball, but these are stories you won’t hear on TV. These are the stories from inside the ropes and inside the dugout. Stories that are funny, stories that are touching, stories that inspire, and once in a while a story that has been denied on the spot!
Each year, we host two events. The first happens on Monday of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Players and caddies from the PGA Tour, along with TV personalities and the occasional Welshman, take time to share their experiences as part of the “traveling circus” of professional golf. Want to know how Ted Scott became Bubba’s caddie? Want to know what Tom Lehman and Steve Jones talked about coming down the stretch at the 1996 U.S. Open? Tales from the Tour is the place to find out.
Then in February or early March, at the beginning of Spring Training for Major League Baseball, some of the game’s biggest names gather to share baseball and life stories. This is a unique opportunity to get to know players in a way that you would never expect. Pujols, Zito, Affeldt, Goldschmidt, Hamilton, Ahmed, Zobrist. And, Dayton Moore, GM of the World Champion Kansas City Royals, and Juliana Zobrist, a player’s wife. Yes, people just like that. These are stories you wouldn’t hear unless you were hanging out with the players and their families down at the park.
We hope you take a moment to watch video of some of the stories from past events. We’ve just put the entire 90-minute 2016 Tales From the Dugout event video up on this website. We hope that you will join us in 2017 for our next events. If you haven’t done so already, just fill in three boxes on the form at the right and we’ll keep you updated. Thanks for stopping by!
